Wendi
Throughout the Easter season, we have been sharing stories of transformation that illustrate people finding identity and destiny in Christ. Our final story comes from Wendi, who, in her fight against clinical depression and now cancer, continues to find hope and security in her identity and destiny in Jesus. I have had the privilege of being in a small group, or BLG, with Wendi and have been inspired by her encouraging words, generous smiles, and joyful demeanour, all in spite of the many physical and emotional hardships she has endured over the past few years. At first glance, this video could be misconstrued as a tribute to Wendi, when in fact, it is her tribute to Jesus, and the effect of the transformative work of His death and resurrection on her life, as Wendi so emphatically and affectionately proclaims, “Death, where is your sting?!”
